“Us” is actually just “me.” Here’s my story…
For the last 18+ years, I’ve worked in the marketing, public relations, graphic design industries. My pursuit of excellence in speaking began in 1999 when a then-boyfriend dragged me to a 6:30 am Monday morning Toastmasters meeting. The relationship with HIM didn’t last (thank goodness!) …but the relationship with Toastmasters DID.
I’ve been a club officer, distinguished District Governor, Toastmaster of the Year, and everything in between. My skills as a leader, speaker, and business woman have come a long way since I first joined — it’s been a truly amazing experience. The best part? I met Gregory Lay. I was still a fairly “green” Toastmaster, and was the incoming VPPR for Albuquerque Club 122. Gregory was an outgoing Area Governor, and had been invited to do our officer installation. It was love at first sight! Several years later, we got married on July 4th. Talk about fireworks! Woo-hoo!
A few years ago, Gregory and I partnered with several World Champions of Public Speaking and an NSA Hall of Fame Speaker in a program called World Champions’ EDGE. We work with speakers who want to go beyond “the basics” with their speaking skills… in competition, professional speaking, and/or as business presenters. My “official” title is Chief Butterfly Herder. Once you get to know me, you’ll understand why.
In addition to my work with Champions’ EDGE, I own a website design/marketing business called theButterflyHerder.com. I help emerging & professional speakers create a unique online presence using a variety of tools & techniques. My clients ROCK, and I really enjoy working with them!
